8th grade Interdisciplinary Project: Memoir Art Project

In ELA, students wrote memoirs about their lives.
In Art, they created visual memoirs.

Memoir: (n), an autobiographical narrative that tells about important aspects of the writer’s past. 

Life is about the journey, not the destination.  Where have you been?  This project is an opportunity to visually communicate important aspects from your life. 

Self-portrait: as many artists have discovered, the self-portrait offers a limitless opportunity to describe ones journey.  You will draw or paint a self-portrait with symbolic images surrounding you.
