Daniel C. (8th grade): Creepy Shepard Fairey
I just tried drawing creepy characters and went with a simple one in different designs that I and Shepard Fairey created. After sketching with pencil, I traced over it with marker to make it stand out. By using the “Obey” reference book and remembering my trip to New York. I mostly took the design and sayings of Shepard Fairey and made them my own.

So cool, Daniel. I love the third piece with the image of someone maybe out of the Middle East and revolution. Is the gear supposed to symbolize the revolution as well? I like that you used it as a halo and also as the "O" in revolution. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI like the third one the best, too. I like relationship between the large, strong Middle Eastern looking person and the smaller person in the foreground with the American flag-themed clothing who looks defeated. Your picture makes me think about the relationship between Middle Eastern and American cultures.
